New boat: Hanse 370

At 37 feet long, the Hanse 370 zeros in on a popular segment of the sailboat market, but the fine fit and finish of this good-looking boat is likely to lift it to the top of its size category.

Two different construction methods are offered for the 370. A glass-reinforced polyester contruction will produce a robust hull, but owners looking for more performance can go for the 370e, which is made with epoxy to be just as strong but faster.

Designed by the successful design team of Judel/Vrolijk & Co., the 370 features a comfortable and well-protected cockpit that doesn’t hinder access to sheets and halyards, which are within the helmsman’s reach. The deck is kept clear of much hardware, with some blocks led under the deck to keep the area uncluttered. Instruments are mounted on the binnacle, where it is most convenient for the helmsman.

Down below is remarkably luxurious and Hanse will work with owners to come up with an interior layout that works best for them. Rather than a cookie cutter approach to the 370’s interior, owners will be able to select from a number of woods, fabrics and finishes, and if they desire an extra long bunk or other special touch, Hanse will find a way to work it in.
