Billy Black has been called an artist with a camera. He started his photographic career in the New York fashion industry but quickly discovered that he preferred action, adventure and travel. He sailed his Ericson 39 into Newport for the start of 1986 BOC Challenge and moved to Rhode Island in 1991.

He currently works out of his office in Portsmouth, RI with his wife Joyce and assistant Gretchen Thor. Billy specializes in brochure and advertising work for all kinds of boats but also enjoys destination and adventure sailing photography. He loves nothing better than traveling to a new place and capturing the magic of the light and the spirit of the people.
